uTorrent: The World's Most Popular BitTorrent Client

uTorrent has doubled its number of users in 2008. Worldwide, it is the most popular BitTorrent client. Besides the fact that it is free, and takes very little memory, it is also the leader in peer to peer filesharing software for the following reasons.

µTorrent features include:
bandwidth prioritization
scheduling
RSS auto-downloading

Mainline DHT

uTorrent supports Protocol Encryption, joint specification and peer exchange. You can use your computer as if uTorrent weren't there at all, because µTorrent is efficient. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog system resources and typically uses less than 6MB of memory. The application itself is less than 220 KB in size. Various icon, toolbar graphic and status icon replacements are available.

The editor of PC World online, Preston Gralla, said,
The BitTorrent standard is the best protocol for sharing files, but the uTorrent client is better than the BitTorrent client: It has lots of extras, such as a configurable bandwidth scheduler and global and per-torrent speed limiting.
