Is It Better To Give Or Receive?
Seeders versus leechers.
Upload versus download.
How do you rate by peer review?
What are your sharing habits?
Ratios and data sharing statistics rate users by their budgeting of bandwidth on P2P sites
& uTorrent applications track a users overall bit transfer activity.
With such different behavior representing a wide range in user types,
is there a common consensus on file sharing ethics?
Is there such a thing as your fair share?
Who would agree with the following?
A minimum of 1:1 is necessary to remain in the peer status.
Any less and you're leeching.
GENEROUS USERS maintain a ratio or 4:1
(to maintain demonoid user stats, insuring they receive
regularly rationed invite codes coveted by outsiders.)
Seeders plant more data than they harvest,
but by how much typically?
What about me?
My current uTorrent application stats report the following:
- Total uploaded: 91.2GB
- Total downloaded: 22.12GB
- Total ratio: 4.117
- Total running time: 734:31:15
- Number of torrents addedL41
- Program launched 20 times
